The UK centre of yachting, Cowes Yacht Haven has recently commissioned Pure Green to supply and install solar photo voltaic systems across its site to reduce it considerable energy bill.
The site has many diverse and separate buildings which has proved a challenge in finding suitable roof space on which to install solar panels. However by working closely with the Cowes Yacht Haven management team, the Pure Green engineers have come up with a solution to maximise the possible returns by utilising suitable roofs and linking to the appropriate meters.
To date two 12 kW arrays have been installed which has reduced the energy bill in the order of 20%. Further arrays will be installed to maximise the available generated electricity. The project has been put on temporary hold for a week because of the prestigious Cowes week regatta being held at the Haven.
