Biomass System

The Bereleigh Estate is a famous shooting estate set in the rolling downlands of southern Hampshire. The estate has access to a considerable amount of timber and so a wood chip fuelled boiler seemde a natural choice.

The Herz 199kW boiler and  its associated 5000 l cylinder are situated in an old barn which was renovated by the farm staff. The woodchip fuel store was built behind a fire proof wall in another part of the barn. Next to the actual fuel feed there is ample room for storage of woodchip which can be fed into the fuel feed by farm labour using front loaders on a tractor.

The system provides heat and hot water to the main house, 4 cottages and the greenhouse/swimming pool.
