Introduction
This fuel is produced from organic material either directly from plants or indirectly from domestic, commercial, industrial or agricultural products. The two main categories are:

1. Woody biomass

   Forest products, energy crops, short rotation coppice (SRC) and untreated wood products.

2. Non-woody biomass

   Municipal waste products, high energy crops, biodegradable products

Domestic biomass normally uses wood pellects, wood chips or logs.
